Regarding Private Appointments
Kings Road Consulting Rooms offers private medical appointments for patients with
orthopaedic conditions.
When you first contact us to make your initial
appointment, you will be requested to obtain a letter of referral from your GP,
Physiotherapist, or another Medical Consultant who has requested you to arrange the
appointment.
This is most important as your
letter of referral will inform your Consultant about your symptoms, as well as if you are
taking any medication or have a drug allergy. Some Medical Insurance Companies will not
pay your fees if you have not been referred by a GP or a Medical Consultant.
What we
need to know
If you have Medical Insurance, we will need to know your
Medical Insurance details. If you are provided with an authorisation number, please inform
the receptionist each time your are issued with a new number.
Please inform the Accounts Department if you change from one Medical
Insurance Company to another, so that we can keep our records up to date. This also
applies to any changes of address or telephone numbers.
If you are responsible for the consultation fees and you have Medical
Insurance, please inform us to prevent the invoices being automatically forwarded to your
Medical Insurers.
MRI/CT/SPECT
Scans, X-Rays, Tests in Medical Physics, Orthotics and Plaster
If your Consultant has recommended any of
the above tests, you will be requested to sign a form ensuring you understand the test(s)
will be arranged on a 'private basis'.
You will be informed of the cost, and you
will need to check with your Medical Insurance Company to ensure that they are willing to
meet the charges. Some Insurance Companies will only agree payment of these tests if you
require surgery.
Once you have had your test(s), you will
need to contact us to arrange a follow-up appointment. It would be most helpful if you
could tell the receptionist you are returning for your results, stating the type of
test(s), the date of the test(s) and where it was carried out.
